    Who does not know the Dieng plateau? Legendary stories that
contain mystical and thick elements of ancestral customs. Besides the
beautiful area, but keep the story of the legend that pierced the mind. Of
course, the love story between Dewi Shinta and the prince of the Kidang
Garungan.







       Some time ago in the Dieng Plateau there lives a beautiful
princess. She named Shinta Dewi. She is famous for her beauty. So many
princes are willing to propose to her. She will receive their proposal, but they must to fulfill what she
want. Like today’s women, who are crazy about wealth. 










    One day, came a prince named Kidang Garungan. He was
captivated by the beauty of the princess. And he is willing to fulfill
what she want. He gives all his wealth, in order to marry the princess.
Shinta Dewi was captivated by all the seduction of his wealth. In the mind
of the princess, he look so handsome and authoritative. Thus making the
princess very busy to preparing the marriage with the prince. 

















     Until the time
of the married, she was surprised because kidang garungan’s face was very ugly.
He is like a deer! Shinta Dewi was insulting the prince of Kidang Garungan that
his face was very creepy.Then, Shinta Dewi received her propose. But on
condition that he must make a well in one night with his bare hand. He
also agreed to terms. After that, he does what she wants.









    He make a well
with his horn. When he was working for the well, Shinta Dewi was burry it him
alive. The prince shouted. The louder screams, the more soil is put into the
well. Finally, the well was explode! Then, the sound of the garungan sound
was heard. He cursed the descendants of Shinta Dewi dreadlocks like a
deer. And the well that exploded was called Sikidang Crater.








 











Point of view : 


        Don’t be greedy and don’t judge a people from the cover. Why love must exist when wealth and 


physical beauty are determinant.


 


Closing Statement :









This story is a good read for all ages and teach
young people about the origin of a legend that happened in ancient times.
